Jeroboams new agency announcement, Domaine Pierre Damoy

Jeroboams is thrilled to announce the addition of Domaine Pierre Damoy to their Burgundy portfolio, having been appointed as the exclusive UK agent.

Martin Tickle, Jeroboams’ Fine Wine Buyer described the wines as being ‘a wonderful fit’ for their portfolio, which includes retail, on-trade, and private clients. “Under Pierre’s stewardship the family Domaine has reached new levels of quality,” said Tickle. “With such impressive terroir at his disposal, the wines are ripe and structured, but above all show a deft touch and expression of terroir.”

Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, the Domaine Pierre Damoy has superb holdings, including approximately one third of Grand Cru Chambertin-Clos de Bèze and 40% of Grand Cru Chapelle-Chambertin. Their oldest vines date back to the 1920s and are locate

d in Clos de Bèze and Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Tamisot. Tickle adds, “effectively Pierre’s garden, the 1.5-hectare Clos Monopole was planted in 1922 and 1945 and is one of the best sites in the village.”

Commenting on his UK distribution, Pierre said, “I’m very pleased that Jeroboams will be distributing my wines in the UK. Their profile suits my requirements for quality-oriented long-term partnerships based on mutual respect. Their combination of retail, on trade and private sales is key to the appropriate positioning of my wines.”

The Domaine’s packaging has been completely revamped for the 2015 vintage, which will be the first to be released by Jeroboams. Alongside new external packaging, all wine labels will incorporate a state-of-the-art chip that allows temperature and other parameters to be monitored.

Domaine Pierre Damoy’s wines will be available to taste exclusively at the Jeroboams Annual Burgundy En Primeur Tasting on the 14th January 2020 at the Institute of Directors (IOD), 116 Pall Mall, London (Nash Room). Details of wines and pricing available on request.

The wines will be available from Jeroboams shops and via distribution arm Jeroboams Trade from the end of September 2019.
