London’s local wine merchant, Jeroboams, has appointed Matt Tipping to the role of Commercial Director.
Tipping joins the company with considerable experience of the Fine Wine market, with roles at Majestic Wine and most recently Fine Wine Sales Manager at Berry Bros & Rudd.
The role of Commercial Director is a new one for the Company, and aims to further align the private customer journey from their first visit to one of the six Jeroboams stores, through to sourcing their individual requirements for wine and Champagne through to the most exclusive spirits and liqueurs. Jeroboams has a team of passionate and knowledgeable staff who are uniquely placed in desirable locations across London, and Tipping will be an inspirational addition adding a further element of connectivity and relevance to the local community that the retailer has been keen to enhance.
Hugh Sturges, Managing Director added ‘Matt Tipping will bring exceptional knowledge of the wine market and what a private customer is looking for particularly through his many years managing the Fine Wine team at Berry Bros, and his earlier experience in retail. I am delighted that he is joining Jeroboams and look forward to working with him and my other colleagues in retail and in the on trade, cementing Jeroboams’ position as London’s Local Wine Merchant.”
“I’m delighted to be joining Jeroboams at this exciting time in their history’, says Tipping. “They have recently consolidated their business and are focusing on tailoring their key strengths to their customers’ individual requirements. Having quality retail shops in key ‘villages’ within London gives Jeroboams a great opportunity to really stand out from other companies. They have a loyal and dedicated customer base and thereby add strength to the wineries and brands they represent. It’s an exciting time to be joining the team and I’m looking forward to further enhancing Jeroboams reputation as London’s local wine merchant by championing innovation and personalised service.
This addition to the team is a further highlight to an extremely fruitful year for the Jeroboams Group. In May they relaunched their celebrated delicatessen Mr. Christian’s, they have distributed their exclusive local maps designed by London artist Zebedee Helm, and have renovated their charming Private Cellar in their Walton Street store. This October will also see their first Press Tasting in a number of years, to be held at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in the heart of London. Hugh Sturges and the team look forward to welcoming you to this exciting Autumn tasting. For more details, please contact Astrid or Elizabeth (details below).
Tipping will join the team from the 5th of September and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
